The eligibility criteria for Motability is very simple. If you are eligible for:

• Higher rate Mobility Component (HRMC) of the Disability Living Allowance (DLA)
• War Pensioners Mobility Supplement (WPMS)

Then you are eligible for a motability car.

You are able to get any car sold here at Dews. However, some cars have enhanced offers on them under the motability scheme, so please speak to one of our motability specialists at any of our branches to identify the best car for both your physical and financial wellbeing.

Its simple, our fully trained motability staff will help you choose the car which best suits your needs, and then we will discuss with you the best way to acquire your vehicle. There are two main schemes under which you can receive your new car:

Scheme 1 – Contract Hire

95% of our customers choose contract hire giving:
*A new car of your choice every 3 years
* Insurance and personal accident cover
* Free Service and Maintenance plan
* Full breakdown assistance from RAC

Scheme 2 – Hire Purchase

Some customers may prefer to buy their own car, in which case Hire Purchase might be for you. If you choose Hire Purchase, you negotiate the actual purchase price with us here at Dews, and you own the vehicle at the end of the agreement. On this scheme you will be responsible for organising and paying for your comprehensive insurance, breakdown recovery, car tax and all servicing and maintenance requirements.

If you are the registered carer or guardian/parent of someone receiving either of the qualifying allowances, then you are able to apply for a motability vehicle on their behalf.

Each motability vehicle can have up to 2 proposed drivers as long as these drivers do not have any serious driving convictions, disqualifications, or endorsements within the last 5 years.

On the contract hire scheme many of the most popular adaptations can be done at no extra costs. We understand that adaptations can help make driving easier or more comfortable, and as such we can order the adaptations at the same time you order your vehicle.
