New Vauxhall Corsa
Vauxhall’s fresh, funky and most important supermini in years, recently arrived in our Halifax and Brighouse showrooms, has received one of the industry’s most prestigious accolades, voted What Car? Car of the Year for 2007.
The New Corsa is slightly longer and wider than the current model, while the coupè-like roofline of the three-door version gives it a dynamic sporty stance. The benefits of the increased size are immediately evident in the interior in the form of additional leg and shoulder room. The interior is also finished in high quality materials.
The new Corsa sports a host of active safety features, including Enhanced Understeer Control (EUC), while it’s also the first in its class to have variable progressive power steering. This offers greater levels of feedback on the open road but lightens up in congested urban areas.
The new Corsa is initially available with five engine options, including petrol and diesel variants. A version featuring a lowered sports chassis and 17” wheels will also be available shortly.

THE NEW ANTARA
Due for launch later in 2007 as the successor to the Frontera the Vauxhall Antara has already been wooing the motoring press and potential buyers.
The three-door body is accessed through clever door handles which emerge from the body when the remote locking is activated. Inside a large glass area gives the four-seater cabin a real feeling of space, while innovative sliding seats give plenty of opportunity to get comfortable.
The back seats can be folded away completely, creating a completely flat load floor and providing up to 2,400 litres of usable load space. Full specifications and prices have yet to be announced, but the Antara will almost certainly be powered by Vauxhall’s acclaimed 212PS 1.9litre CDTi twin-turbo diesel engine.
